Diane von Furstenberg's Spring/Summer 2012 campaign was released this month. Shot by Camilla Akrans, it features a lone model surrounded by miles and miles of desert and beautiful blue skies. But instead of showing her face, there is a mirror reflecting the sky. The bottom of the ad reads "Be who you want to be". While its intentions are to get you to devote less attention to the model and more to the collection, I found myself more distracted by the mirrored face. Of course, that may be because I saw the ad online and not in person. I love the concept of making the viewer/consumer see themselves in the ad, suggesting that the model could be any one of us. As a struggling college student, designer, and military spouse, that very well could be the only time I see myself in DVF. It gets interesting though when you see that although the face is a mirror, it only reflects the sky. Do you mean to tell me that no matter what I do, I will never be able to afford a DVF dress?! Is it impossible...unreachable? I sure hope not. I love DVF!
What do you think about the ad?

North Face jackets used unethical feathers
This is really interesting. As a person that lives in the Chicagoland area, which is one state that usually has a pretty fierce winter, I see North Face jackets everywhere. To this point, I have only heard good things about it. Take a look at this article I just came across on msn.com.
