PULSE Fashion Show

Last night was my school's annual student produced fashion show.  The theme was "Raw Beauty".  I decided to show two of my menswear looks.  The first look, created specifically for the show and modeled by my husband, was a white short sleeved half-zip crew neck shirt.  I used gold paisley brocade fabric to add royal touches to a topper that could otherwise be considered fairly basic.  I paired that with dark denim shorts also created specifically for the show.  I used a cognac colored vinyl as an accent fabric on the back pockets as well as for piping on the back of the shirt.  For look two, I made a long sleeved button down shirt with a hidden placket and french cuffs.  In keeping with the look of the mini collection, I used a teal paisley fabric to add a pop of color and give the dress shirt a regal flair.  The jeans that were paired with this shirt also has vinyl as an accent fabric, used on both the back and front pockets.  I was inspired by geometric prints and lines when designing my jeans and that is shown in the pockets. The denim shorts in my first look were designed to be similar to the jeans second look and the paisley brocade used on both shirts were used to bring cohesion to the mini collection.  Overall, I think my two looks did well on the runway.  I was told that they "had presence" and looked great.  I even had someone ask how much I would charge to recreate the jeans for them!  Oh, and I forgot to mention that my two looks won an award for "Best Menswear" among the other designer's garments in the show.

I hope to add to my two looks and make at least a five piece collection that I can show in future fashion shows.

My next school fashion show will be in June when I show my senior collection. I am really looking forward to it!  I can't wait to share that experience with you as well!

Kourtney, Khloe, & Kim Head to Sears in Schaumburg

Great news from international designer and President of Jupi Corporation, Bruno Schiavi! He is in partnership with the Kardashian sisters with their Kardashian Kollection. He recently posted on his facebook page that Kourtney, Khloe, and Kim Kardashian are scheduled to visit the Sears of Woodfield Mall next month to greet fans and sign autographs. Kim also confirmed it on her FB page. Sears carries their Kardashian Kollection which includes ready to wear women's clothing, lingerie, belts, handbags, and wallets. I don't know about you but I am SO excited! I have been following the close knit, fashionista sisters on their reality shows and have grown to love them. I look forward to meeting them and, of course, telling them how much I love their "Kollection"!

“The Kardashian sisters are an inspiration to women of all ages and loved for their sense of fashion and style. I am extremely excited to be working with Kim, Khloe and Kourtney across so many fashion categories – taking their brand to women in key markets around the world.”
